Longwood Gardens Fountain Show

Longwood Gardens is one of my family’s favorite place to visit during Spring Season because of its beautiful collection of Spring flowers, trees, and rare plants. But guess what? People visit Longwood not just because of the flowers, plants and trees but also the Fountain Gardens.

Longwood has 4 Fountain Gardens, the  Main Fountain Garden , the  Open Air Theatre Fountains , the Italian Water Garden , and the Additional Fountains . But the highlights of all is the Main Fountain Garden that deliver a show every hour for 5minutes. You can check its schedule  here.

Its so beautiful to watch. My family enjoyed watching it. Its very relaxing to look at specially that its accompanied by a classical music.  Below are some of the shots I took in one of its shows.

Longwood Gardens : The Conservatory

Photobucket

This is the Conservatory of Longwood Gardens that shelters 5,500 types of plants and 20 indoor gardens. Wow imagine how big this Conservatory is. Its 4.5 acres of covered display, production, and research greenhouses. (source LongwoodGardens.com )

We visited this place twice already, and we never get tired of the display inside because every season is different.Last year Spring Season was our second time to visit. The inside was full of beautiful Spring flowers from all over the world. Yes, I say all over the world because this Conservatory is a Giant Greenhouse, so it conserves any plants from around the world. Their last year display was so beautiful, it was breathtaking. How I wish I had a better camera that time, still I got some really good shots of the place. Below is us by their display.

This conservatory is divided to 3 sections, namely the West Conservatory Complex, Main Conservatory, and the East Conservatory Complex.

Photo below is the East Conservatory Complex, where the Indoor Children Garden is located. I will just share it on my next post.Photobucket

Below is the  West Conservatory area that displays gray and silver-foliaged plants adapted to the dry, arid landscape of the Mediterranean and desert regions. Dont you wanna have these plants in your yard? Pretty isnt it? specially the model? hehe =PPhotobucket

And below is the Main Conservatory Photobucket

And guess what is my favorite part inside the Conservatory?PhotobucketTheir Family Rest Room!!! woot!! So spacious and very clean! If you look at the photo above, it look like an elevator. hehe

Below is what is inside.

There you go! Thats all I can share for now. There’s more in this conservatory that I havent showed you. I will just share it to you some other time.

Photobucket

This is the old house of Pierce-du Pont situated in the middle of 1077 acres in Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA. It’s the oldest building here in Longwood. It was built by Joshua du Pont in 1730. Now this is serve as a Museum here in Longwood Gardens, I bet the inside is full of historical facts about the Du Pont Family. We didnt take a peek inside because the kids might go berserk and touched everything insight. lol! We just admired its old structure from the outside and the beautiful flowers that surrounded the place.  If you wanna see whats the inside of this house, you can check out this link.

Anyhow,  photo above was taken last Spring Season 2011. This was our second time to visit this place, and hoping to visit it again this year.
