Dutch Winter Wonderland

Before Christmas, my family and I visited the Dutch Winter Wonderland in Lancaster, PA, which is an hour away from our place. It was our 2nd time to visit the place and this time with Plop Plop! The first time, it was only me and the kids, hubby had a big project that time that he cant take a day off. So we were so happy that hubby was able to go with us on our 2nd visit.

Anyway, photo below is the entrance of the Dutch Wonderland. Isn’t it pretty? Its along route 30 Lincoln Highway, so its not hard to miss. This place is a fun place for kids. During Holiday Season, they are open from 3pm until 9pm. The rates are cheaper compare to its regular rates in the Summer, because some of the rides are close in the Winter SeasonPhotobucketBut when we visit this place a couple of weeks ago, the rates were even more cheaper compare to our first visit. It was very windy that day, and so cold. Only few of the rides were open. In spite that, we still had our fun.

Photos below were some of their light shows.PhotobucketPhotobucket And below photo were me and the kids freezing cold, or its just me who was freezing cold, because I was not properly dressed for such outdoor activity in the Winter Season. At first hour of being outdoor was okay, but after 2hours of staying outdoor, I started not to feel my toes, nose, and fingers. I got the kids properly wrapped up from head to toes, but as for me…no socks, hole on my head(lol!), fashionable gloves and coat that doesnt help much. As you can see on the photo below, I am like Rudolph the red nose reindeer. lol. I was not wearing socks, just my stockings, because I was wearing a thinsulate shoes. I guess it doesnt work if you dont wear socks. I thought my feet would be sweating in this shoes, but oh boy I was wrong, my footsies was frozen after 3hours. lol.

PhotobucketBut anyway it was a fun day. We all had fun in spite the below freezing temp due to the 50mph gust of wind. It was a very COOL experienced for me. :-D

Philippine Embassy in DC

My family and I went to DC a couple of weeks ago to renew my eldest passport in the Philippine Embassy. DC is a 3hours ride from our place, so we left home pretty early to get there in time. I’ve heard that it gets really busy in the embassy, because they are serving Filipinos from Maryland, Virginia, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and other countries that are outside in US. You will find the information in this link.

Anyhow, the processing of passports were transferred at the other building(photo below) which is located at the front of the Embassy. It’s very tough to find a parking spot there, because the location is like in the middle of DC. Hubby had a hard time finding a spot that is close to the Embassy. After going in circles for a couple of times, a car pulled out from the curb that is at the front of the embassy, but the parking was only until 4pm, and it was already 3:30pm when we got there. We were hoping that we will be done in the Embassy right away, but I know that would be impossible right? So what we did, hubby took us inside the Embassy and went to the car afterward to sit there and watch out for the cops or people who hands out tickets. Lucky he was not ticketed after parking there for an hour. Good thing there was only a few people in the Embassy that day, so we were done like an hour in renewing my son’s passport. Below are some photos that I like to share to you inside the Embassy.PhotobucketPhotobucketIts very Christmassy inside the Embassy, I love how they decorated the place which is so Philippines. It sure brought me home.PhotobucketSeeing this Parol makes me feel homesick a bit. I sure miss seeing all those beautiful parol that is lighted at night in the street of my Homeland.

Brown Bears in Donegal Zoo, PA

The brown bears in Donegal Zoo PA are the biggest bear that we ever saw. It was my first time to see them in person, and I find them so cute! Even the little one here thinks they are cute too. Looking at them makes me want to hug them so tight. lol. Arent they huggable? :-D   They look like they need a hug to make them feel better, I bet they dont like being lock up in the cage. But I am pretty sure they love the attention and the feeding. Yes! You can feed them by dropping a food in the tube that goes down to their cage. As you can see behind me on this first photo is a gray tube that goes down to this bear who is waiting for his goodies.  We can tell that he was hungry because he sits there and wait for his food to drop down to his throat. hehe.
