If you visit Virginia Beach, you should check out Capt. Jack’s Pirate Ship Adventure . Its one of the fun stuff to do in VB with your family, specially if you have little kids, they will surely never forget this exciting experience, of being aboard on the Lost Pearl.
Above is the Lost Pearl, sailing on the blue seas of Virginia Beach, caught by my camera from our hotel room on one early morning. Its an hour trip of fun, so its worth every penny you pay for! Not to mention the beautiful view of Virginia Beach from the Ocean, and the dolphin watching are a must see!
It cost $26 for adult, Children (ages 3-15) is $22, and 2 below is FREE.
My Mateys had so much fun, they wanted to ride it again, but sad to say, we booked the last trip, and it was already dark when we got off the ship.
And Below are my Mateys, ready to look for treasures that were stolen by Black Beared
Posing before we sail.
First thing to do is Face Painting for Pirates Wannabe. My kuya was saying Arrrr….
Photos below shows Kids gathered on the deck to listen to the story about the Pirate Black Beared, who stole the treasures. So its not just about sailing the Lost Pearl, but the kids get the chance to act like real Pirates. The crew of the Lost Pearl have a special show where the kids can participate and have so much fun, while the mommies and daddies listen to their fascinating stories and drama.
They also have other fun activities like searching for the Pirate Black Beard, and shoot him with the water canon, as shown below. The kids also dance the limbo after defeating Black beard and retrieving the Treasures. Each kid had the chance to pick their treasures in the treasure box.
And here we are.. saying.. ARRrrrrr
The Aquarium in Va is not only about creatures underwater, but they also have exhibits about the Earth and other in-land living creatures such as the Komodo Dragon, that I featured a couple of days ago here. But what Im gonna show you now are some of their interesting exhibits for the kids to learn in a fun and interactive way.
The Aquarium Va have exhibits about the earth, on how it moves, how things become like this and like that, some cool artifacts, interesting fossils of some different species, rock formations, precious metals and minerals, erosion, degradation, and other stuff about the Earth and its changes.
Here are some photos that my kids find so interesting
The Globe – My kids were amazed by this round ball. They cant believe that they live in it. They were so fascinated by its movements and weather changes. You can change the weather thru the computer behind Jian. Pretty cool huh?
Below is the Create a Crater. They love to look at this one, cause the ground shakes and make a hole in the center.
Here is Jian, trying to turn the round thing to reverse the sediments that are in the tube. I guess its different kinds of sediments, comparing which one is the fastest to settle down.
And below is some kind of a thing.. that I forgot what its all about. hehehe Actually this thing has 2 wheels, the outer wheel, that my son is holding makes the black niddles move forward. And the inner wheel, , is for the dirt to move down. I guess it shows how much dirt will fall down, if there are lots of black niddles on the way?. Im not sure.
Here is my guy, resting at the conservation station I bet he got tired from all that information that he was reading from the previous exhibits.
Photo below is by the walkway going to another area of their exhibits. Pretty cool paintings huh? Im not sure if this is real, or the people in the aquarium made it.
Here are more interesting facts. My son was very interested in learning all these. I thought he would not finish reading.
And here is my little buddy, trying to peek at this giant lens to see the fossils.
Theres a lot of turtles in Aquarium Virginia, but what really caught my attention was this cool Florida Soft Shell Turtle. I thought its pretty unique, sitting pretty still on the rocks, and letting people take his photos. He was different from any other turtles there, because of his soft flat shell and funny nose. But I think he is cute. hehe..
